FSU English professor continues prolific publications streak, debuts four new titles in 2021 

A Florida State University English professor is continuing his prolific publications streak with the release of four new books. Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor of English Stan Gontarski has published 31 titles since earning his doctorate from Ohio State University in 1974, including four released between August and December 2021.

Florida State University to celebrate inauguration of President Richard McCullough

Florida State University will celebrate the inauguration of its 16th president, Richard McCullough, with a day of festivities Friday, Feb. 25. The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. with “The President’s Symposium: The Future of Higher Education” at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, featuring a panel of national leaders in higher education.

Winter 2022

The sun rises over the “Unconquered” statue on Langford Green outside Doak Campbell Stadium. The bronze sculpture, completed in 2003 by Fritz White, reaches three stories in height and celebrates the indomitable human spirit. Student Spotlight: Kelsey Mira

Kelsey Mira is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry through the Florida State University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Mira won the 2021 Russell H. and Dorothy P. Johnsen Scholarship in chemistry, an award recognizing students studying physical chemistry and U.S. military veterans or their family members. Mira is also a midshipman in Florida A&M University’s Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps program, which is also open to FSU students.
