This work is part of CML's Apalachicola Bay System Initiative, which facilitates research to inform sustainable management and restoration methods following the bay's oyster fishery collapse in the early 2010s. In the time between earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in 2020 and beginning her doctoral studies at FSU in 2023, Lillie Bradshaw conducted research for the U.S. Geological Survey. She traveled to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California to examine the effects of copper and nitrogen on high-elevations lakes, such as Pear Lake (pictured). Photo by Gaby Ruso.

A data visualization showing internal tides data around the Hawaiian Islands from NASA Goddard's Space Flight Center simulation run. Internal tides data appear on the water surface and the direction of the waves reveal the interplay between the steep underwater features and the tidal energy generated in the region.
