Rescheduling a Final Exam for a COAS course (fall/spring only)
Students who are requesting to reschedule a final examination for a course offered through the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) must:
-
Contact the Instructor of Record (IOR) for the course via FSU email to see if the IOR will allow the student to reschedule within the posted final examination week for the semester in question.
-
Refer to the FSU Registrar’s Office website for Final Examination Policies and fall and spring semester Exam Schedules.
-
The student must first receive written permission from the instructor confirming all rescheduled exam details, including date, time, location, and format, before proceeding to the next step.
-
The rescheduled exam must still fall within the final examination week for the semester.
-
-
-
Petition the COAS Student Affairs Office using this Undergraduate Request to Reschedule a Final Exam form.
To guarantee a timely approval:
-
Contact your IOR as early as possible regarding your request.
-
Submit your request prior to the last day of classes.
-
Allow the COAS a minimum of two business days to complete their review after the form has been completed by you and approved by your Instructor of Record (IOR).
-
Review completion is not guaranteed if the completed form is submitted to the COAS Dean’s Office less than two business days prior to the scheduled or rescheduled final examination, whichever comes first.
-
Both the student and instructor will receive a decision notification via Docusign from the Student Affairs Office in the COAS Dean’s Office once the request has been reviewed.
