Participation in the Commencement Ceremony

  1. Commencement ceremonies occur before final grades post each semester. Final graduation status reviews begin after grades post the week following the end of the semester. Participation in Commencement ceremonies is not the same as graduating and does not guarantee approval of graduation or earning your degree.
  2. Additional information – including Commencement ceremony details, important dates, and cap and gown details – can be found on the Graduation website.
  3. Questions about participating in a commencement ceremony as an early walker should be directed to the Graduation Department within the FSU Registrar's Office.
  4. If you are unable to participate in the graduation ceremony during the semester in which you complete all degree requirements and graduate, you can be permitted to participate in a future graduation ceremony within one year after your degree has been conferred. Contact the Graduation Department within the FSU Registrar's Office to submit your "Late Walker" request.
