FSU Physics hosts eighth annual Nuclear Medicine and Science Camp
The Florida State University Department of Physics, part of the College of Arts and Sciences, hosted the eighth annual Nuclear Medicine and Science Camp June 22-26. This year's camp took place at A. Crawford Mosley High School in Lynn Haven, Florida, and included visits to Florida State University's John D. Fox Superconducting Linear Accelerator Laboratory and the National Science Foundation-funded, FSU-headquartered National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
The camp provides hands-on experiences to middle school students through the use of radiation counters, gamma-ray spectrometers, and exercises in nuclear and atomic spectroscopy.
The Nuclear Medicine and Science Camp is supported by the Center for Excellence in Nuclear Training and University-Based Research, or CENTAUR, part of the National Nuclear Security Administration. The 2026 camp was hosted in partnership with Bay District Schools.
