FSU’s Great Give: University’s 36-hour online giving campaign set for March 22-23
The Florida State University community will unite to support the university by participating in the seventh annual FSU’s Great Give, a 36-hour online giving campaign that raises funds for a wide variety of academic projects, programs, scholarships and student activities at FSU.
Gifts can be made online at greatgive.fsu.edu from 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, through 9 p.m. on Friday, March 23. FSU’s Great Give has seen steady growth in dollars raised and participation since its inception in 2012. Last year, the campaign celebrated its most successful year to date by raising $336,863 from more than 2,250 donors, an impressive 61.5 percent increase in dollars donated from the previous year.
“Last year’s tremendous success has set us on a path to do even better this year,” said Robyn Bertram, donor engagement officer for the FSU Foundation’s Office of Annual Giving. “Our supporters want to see faculty, staff and students achieve their project goals, which is why we’ve secured $23,500 in incentive awards.”
Various incentives will be awarded to participants throughout the 36-hour campaign based on specific criteria, such as the largest gift made in a time period. The largest incentive of $7,500 will be awarded to the project with the greatest number of alumni donors throughout FSU’s Great Give.
The College of Arts and Sciences will sponsor several projects during FSU’s Great Give:
- CARE Scholarships for Arts and Sciences Majors, which help support to traditionally underrepresented students who are disadvantaged by virtue of educational and socioeconomic factors.
- Study Abroad Scholarships for Arts and Sciences Majors, which provide students with the opportunity to enrich their education through one of FSU’s international programs.
- Travel Grants for Anthropology Students, which provide anthropology majors with opportunities to conduct original research and share their findings at professional conferences.
Supporters can also give online to various other initiatives throughout the university. FSU colleges and units have created their own featured projects, which will be showcased using the sparkFSU crowdfunding platform.
Throughout FSU’s Great Give, supporters may receive project updates and giving totals by liking FSU’s Great Give on Facebook or by following FSU’s Great Give on Twitter and Instagram.
Those unable to make a gift online can do so by check or by phone in advance of FSU’s Great Give. Please note that gifts should be earmarked for FSU’s Great Give, and checks must be received by the FSU Foundation by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 23. Donors may select any FSU Foundation fund for their contribution.
