Flip the timer, roll the dice and play your cards.

It’s “Game On for Hands-On Science” as the Florida State University-headquartered National MagLab celebrates the fun of science and games during its 2023 Open House event.

This free event features a day of fun for the whole family: self-guided tours of the world’s largest and highest-powered magnet lab, nearly 100 hands-on science demonstrations, delicious local food trucks, and the chance to meet MagLab scientists and staff.

All of your favorite Open House demos will be back, including the Quarter Shrinker, Potato Launcher and Einstein’s Ice Cream. This year will also feature about a dozen one-of-a-kind game-themed activities including a MagLab arcade, a life-sized magnet “Operation” board game, magnet Skee-ball, CandyLab, and a special game show.

Thousands are expected as Open House returns to full force for the first time since 2020.
