Arts and Sciences alumnae among 2018 Notable Noles

Seven FSU College of Arts and Sciences alumnae have been recognized by the FSU Alumni Association’s Notable Noles program and will be honored among the list of 22 winners at the Young Alumni Awards Dinner Friday, Nov. 16, at the Alumni Center in Tallahassee, Fla. 

“We are proud of these young alumni and stand in applause for their accomplishments, said Sam Huckaba, dean of the college. “It is particularly impressive that they stand out so early in their careers.”

Honored alumnae include:

  • Cynthia Carter (Psychology, 2007), lead clinician, University of Texas Physicians PATH program, Houston, Texas
  • Sarah Eccles-Brown (Biological Science and Psychology, 2004), ophthalmologist, Elmquist Eye Group, Fort Myers, Fla.
  • Bethany Gilot (Psychology, 2009, 2010), director, Statewide Human Trafficking Prevention, Florida Department of Children and Families, Tallahassee
  • Jamie Jackson (Psychology, 2006), operations specialist, FBI Counterterrorism Division, Washington, D.C.
  • Sabrina Kinslow (Psychology, 2007, 2018), Girls Program Coordinator, Junior Achievement, Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Jenna McHenry (Neuroscience and Psychology, 2007, 2012, 2013), assistant professor of psychology and neuroscience, Duke University, Durham, N.C.
  • LaKeitha Poole (Psychology, 2009), director, sports psychology and counseling, Louisiana State University Athletics Department, and owner, Small Talk Counseling and Consulting, Baton Rouge, La.

In addition, McHenry is among just three individuals chosen for further recognition with the prestigious Reubin O’D. Askew Young Alumni Award, the highest honor the association presents to FSU alumni. 

Notable Noles, formerly Thirty Under 30, was created to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Florida State’s young alumni. Each recipient must be an alumnus age 35 or younger who has made exceptional achievements and significant contributions to his or her profession, community/society or the university. The recipient must also exemplify outstanding professional and personal development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches.
