Jeanette Taylor earned both her master’s and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh.

Taylor joined the faculty in the Florida State University Department of Psychology as an assistant professor in 1999. Her primary research is on personality disorders and substance abuse, and their associated personality traits. She received funding from the National Institutes of Health to create the Florida State Twin Registry to examine genetic and environmental influences on behavior.

Taylor has served in several leadership roles in the FSU Department of Psychology, including as director of clinical training from 2010 to 2013 and as department chair from 2013 to 2019.
